Why Dizzy Spinster???
Dizzy Spinster...the real story...
For those who are wondering about the name of my website,
"Dizzy Spinster" came from the "character" I played at the
Georgia Renaissance Festival back in the late 90s. I was only
in a couple of them, but I was there as a spinner - i.e. a person
who spins (span? spun?) yarn using, appropriately enough, a
spinning wheel. I was not alone as it was the Peachtree
Handspinners Guild out of Atlanta, GA, who manned the booth
during the festival. It was great because we could sit outside,
enjoy each other's company, talk with all the folks in the
"village" and most of all - we got a LOT of spinning done! It
was great fun. So - as spinners, or "spinsters", we were a little
loopy at times, hence "dizzy spinsters".
So there you have it. The true story behind my web site's title.
