Help page!
I need your help, please!
|
This is the page I'm putting together because I can't find things and I
will happily accept the help of any of you who is willing and able to
step up to the plate. For example, I may not have a copy of a birth
certificate (something that won't necessarily be posted on my website
-unless you really want me to) or the like for the family tree research
or may need a wedding date or birthday, etc. Besides - we're a large
family and I'm sure everyone has some information on their ancestors.
If you're willing to help, I would be grateful!
Please check back here from time to time to see if there's anything new
for which I need outside assistance.

Native American Roots
Supposedly, Belle Frances Martin (Mom Dillow) was 1/2 Cherokee, but
I have found nothing to prove that. Here's the info on Belle Frances
that I have:
Belle Frances Martin (01 Jan 1873 - 07 Dec 1947)
Married to Joseph Henry Dillow (17 Jun 1868 - ? 1956)
Parents of George Louis, May Elizabeth, Lillian Irene, Lawrence
William, Morris Edward and Alma Marguerite.
In Joseph Henry Dillow's Obituary (I have a clipping - but no specific
date) it reads "He is believed to be the oldest member of Manzanita
Tribe of Redmen in number of years of membership"
George Louis Dillow's obituary (13 Aug 1893 - 05 Oct 1972) reads
"Elks Lodge will hold memorial services at 7pm Saturday and Redmen
services at 7:30pm at the funeral home"
*** Does anyone have any information that links the Dillow family to a
specific tribe? Are we indeed part Native American? The references
to the Redmen Tribe indicate we are, but I've found nothing beyond
those two obituaries. Please Email me if you know anything. ***
Thanks!
May Elizabeth Dillow
(17 Dec 1896 - 26 Oct 1918)
Dillow, she died quite young. The Born
of Belle Frances and Joseph Henry
dates are per the family bible originally
owned by the Hourleys and then by my
Great-grandmother (Lillian Dillow
Bostock) and then my grandmother
(Amilda Frances Bostock Scribner).
My grandmother said that she
remembered hearing of a cripple in the
family who died very young, but knew
nothing more. We found information
on May Elizabeth and she's the only
one who died at a young age - 21.
*** Does anyone know anything else about her? Please Email me
if you do! ***
Thanks!
Phoebe Scribner picture
Does anyone know if this is Phoebe
Kellogg Scribner - wife of Joel
(1748-25 Sep 1827)? Or if this is
their daughter, Phoebe Scribner
(1774 - ?)?
***Please Email me if you know.
Thanks! ***

Clara Volkmann and William Drews
Wedding photo. They're the parents of Ted and
Myrtle Drews. Myrtle is my paternal grandmother.
I have found birth and marriage dates, but I'm not
sure when they passed away. They were both born in
1892 and were married in 1912.
