| While staying in Luxor, we decided we'd like to take a felucca ride down the Nile River. Well - Susan, Gwen and Jane set up the time to go with the hotel owner and then - since I was the designated haggler of the group - handed the negotiations over to me to get a good price. I got it knocked down by a third which means we still paid next to nothing though I'm sure they still made money on the deal! Anyway - we had Banana Island - where the evil Banana Island King tried to charge us money. Of course, we headed back to the felucca at that point, though not before we got a few pictures in. All in all, it was a great time - something I'd do again and again were I to return. Hopefully someday, I'll have that opportunity! The last row of pictures are my only shots from the Valley of the Kings, resting place of many of Egypt's great pharaohs. The detailed work inside these tombs were absolutely amazing. Incredible! |
