Europe 2005 - Louvre & the Tuileries
Back to Paris Trip 2005
After spending a morning wandering around the castle grounds at Vincennes, we
decided to head into the city and find a good museum (like that's really
difficult!)  So - we opted to hit the
Louvre.  In six hours' time, we saw an awful
lot - the main pieces of art - Mona LIsa, Winged victory of Samonthrace, Venus
de Milo - as well as plenty of other things such as a medieval jail in the dungeon
portion of this former castle.  At one point, I wanted to see how a picture
would turn out if I were to reach out my hand a few feet behind one of the
greek statues.  Mom wouldn't go for it.  But after circling around and hitting it
when there weren't other people in the room, Mom agreed to take this
now-famous and oh-so-classy shot.  So no, I'm not really grabbing his
backside, but it does look pretty convincing, doesn't it?
