My Basement
Fall 2006
Woo hoo!  Yeah - FINALLY!  The first coat is done.  Man - what a pain!  I had to use a brush -
one of those short, thick-bristled ones that promotes early onset arthritis...I swear, my hands
were sore for a couple of days after this!  That's ok - it turned out well!
Here we go - it's official:  I'm done with the Dry-Lock.  Thank goodness!  It turned out pretty well -
I'm pleased, considering the amount of work it took.  All in all it wasn't too horrible and well worth
the effort.
Epoxy coating - much like the stuff you put
on garage floors - is down (almost!)  Once
it dries for a few hours, I'll be able to move
the softener over and paint the last bit of
the floor.  You can see what's left on the pic
to the right.  Yeah - it's just about done!!
I'm on a quest to turn my basement into usable space - hopefully a craft room that will
allow me to relocate a lot of my clutter below ground!  So far, I've put down a couple
coats of Dry-Lock to waterproof it, an epoxy-coating on the floor and finally some
paint on the walls.  I'd like to add a bit more decor.  The area rug from Mom and Dad
definitely makes it a bit homier down there.

Next step:  Adding a world map to the wall! Or - turning it into a rec room.  Hmm... :-)
See?  I really did paint!
My basement - from start to
finish.  Yea!
