Puerto Madero - and our first meal in Argentina!
Recoleta Market & Church. Picture a great arts festival, triple it and then have it be there every
single Saturday.  Open market - haggling for prices.  Yeah - it was heaven!

The gang - at the
Empanada place!
Manny - fellow MLHR & my roommate for the trip - and I in front of la Casa
Rosada, made especially famous in the musical, Evita.
Caminito - an area of town near the Bombanera - and probably the only place we visited
where I actually felt like I was in South America.  The rest of Buenos Aires felt very
European.  Yeah - I'd definitely like to go back when I can delve further into the country.
Some of the views from our hotel room at the Sheraton - definitely not my first choice of places to stay
as we seemed to be so far removed from the true Porteños.  We were still able to get a little taste of
Argentina.  Yes - I'd very much like to go back when I can plan my own trip, rather than just going on a
group tour / class trip.  I feel I'd be able to enjoy it more.
Argentina - this is where I went for one of my classes as part of my MLHR degree program at OSU.  We all took an
Emerging Markets Field Study class on either Argentina or India.  During the quarter, we learned about the country's
history, business & political climate, etc and also made contact with a business down in Buenos Aires, where we
planned to visit.  Once there, we visited our companies and also had plenty of time to see the city.  What a fun place,
though I'd like to go back again where I can spend all my time as a tourist and see more of the country itself.  That's
OK as I was able to see plenty of sites with the group as well as on my own.  I particularly liked a couple of the
museums as well as Recoleta - LOVED Recoleta!    What a fun marketplace to check out the local wares and also
talk to the locals.  Yes - my Spanish held up pretty well the time I was there - definitely helped when haggling!
