Why I support Barack Obama

I'm supporting Barack Obama in this year's presidential
election because I think he's the best candidate out there
who can instigate real - positive - change in America.  I
definitely want a Democrat in office because 8 years of a
George Bush - led government has left me distraught with the
direction we are going.  For a variety of reasons I believe
Obama will make a great president.  Like him, I've been
against the Iraq war from the beginning (I never understood
the rush to go in there).  I believe he's level-headed, shows
good judgement and he is not afraid to tackle serious and
controversial topics head on.  He speaks to Americans as if
they're intelligent creatures able to see reason or able to
comprehend an intelligent point of view.  He handles himself
well in the wake of adversity and his organizational ability at
the grassroots level is beyond compare.  It's simply amazing
to see how well organized this campaign is.  And now with Joe
Biden at his side, he's got a great partner to help lead this
nation back to where it needs to be and ahead to where we
want it to be.

He's also inspirational to the point of motivating me  - and
millions of others - to take action.

This is the first year I've volunteered with a presidential
campaign.  I started volunteering the week before the Ohio
Primary on March 4th.  By volunteering, I've had the great
opportunity to meet some wonderful people from all over the
country.  As a result, I've made some new friends with whom I
hope to keep in touch long after the general election this fall.
Heck - maybe some of us will be able to get together at
President Obama's inauguration next January!  Hey - the
power of positive thinking!

Four states - OH, PA, IN and KY - and I'm probably an
amateur compared to some volunteers who have helped in a
lot more states than that!  That's ok - every person can make
a difference.  YES WE CAN!!!

August 23, 2008: I'm now a Neighborhood Team Leader
Western Columbus and Hilliard.  I'll be setting up phone
banks, neighborhood canvassing and Obama events so I'll
need your help to get this done.  I need to work to get
another 1575 votes in my district of 09B02 - Region 9,
Neighborhood 2.

Today, along with NTLs from all over Ohio, I spent the day
on OSU's campus learning how to be an NTL as well as how
some great speakers - including Governor Strickland - who
gave one heck of a rally speech!  We were ALL FIRED UP!

                              ...and READY TO GO!
Email me with any
questions, comments or
whatever (feel free to
say hi!)  I'd love to hear
from you!
